Amazon.com introduced their first computer tablet with Wi Fi and services, the Kindle Fire, to the eagerly awaiting public, users and competitors and has amplified the battle.

This appears to bring digital products and devices wars into full campaign mode. Amazon.com announced and presented four (4) new electronic digital e-reading devices at such reasonable prices that definitely encourage consumers to purchase their services and products.

They introduced the Kindle Fire as their special overture to achieve their company and product goals for the consumer.

Amazon.com Quotation:

“We are excited to announce four new products: the all-newKindle for only $79, two new touch Kindles – Kindle Touch andKindle Touch 3G – for $99 and $149, and a new class of Kindle – Kindle Fire – a beautiful full color Kindle for movies, TV shows, music, books, magazines, apps, games, web browsing and more, for only $199.”

Jeff Bezos, the creator and Internet Guru of Amazon.com affirmed this product is not simply a tablet. He further explained they wanted, ”a way to bring together a remarkable product,” and their “Amazon Web Services, Amazon Prime, Amazon Kindle, Amazon Instant Video, our MP3 store, and Appstore for Android.”

The stylish and smart technological Kindle Fire device runs on Google’s Android operating system and has a dual-core processor with a 7-inch color touch screen display, and weighing in at 14.6 ounces.

The Kindle Fire supports Amazon’s cloud and streaming Prime services, playing MP 3 formats and quickly loads web sites. Additionally, Kindle Fire owners will not be limited to the device’s built-in 8GB of memory as they receive free online storage for movies, books, and music.

The extraordinary factor for this device is the Kindle Fire finally offers availability and options no other e-reader/tablet on the market achieves. Amazon.com’s tablet device allows access and execution to all types of its existing content including movies, TV shows, music, documents and applications including support for all the popular video formats such as Adobe’s Flash.

Furthermore, similar to current Kindle e-books, movies will also sync between devices wirelessly allowing the user to continue watching a movie from the same stopping point they may have been viewing on another device.

The Kindle Fire intends to eliminate cables and allow updating wirelessly via Wi Fi in future models.

Additionally, mentioned, Whispersync, an application included and utilized to download and play movies, TV shows and other kinds of content the E-Ink Kindle displays cannot manage. Also referenced, was “Amazon Silk”, a “smart and split browser” utilizing Amazon Cloud Network, along with the Kindle Fire application to load Internet Web Pages faster.”

The Kindle Fire pricing is $199. It will be available for pre-order and ship Nov. 15.

Kindle E-Ink e-reader new models were introduced with pricing at $79, $99 and $149. As previous, the devices are pre-registered with the user’s Amazon credentials and library.

Kindle Fire versus iPad

In consideration, if the market or consumer expects the Kindle Fire to replace or compete with the iPad, on point for point comparison, it does not compete. While each device is technically incomparable, the iPad cannot compare to the Kindle Fire in reasonably priced services and variant offers including terms of browsing technology, or ability to match Amazon’s cosmic digital products, libraries and capabilities.

There is a vast segment of the population who will never spend the higher prices for Apple products; especially becoming a hostage to their perpetual upgrade cycles and services.

Apple sets an example of indignation with their avoidance to accept the Adobe Flash standard compatibility for applications available to consumers. It has also been reported that many programmers, writers and designers fall into disagreements on royalty payment percentages by Apple. Many agree that Apple presses for every dollar from their customers, and unashamedly takes advantage of their control position.

It is possible with the onset of the Kindle Fire, and its exacting development, the near future may see Apple demonstrate more concern for customer price satisfaction, acceptance of standard compatibility consequence and a more competitive marketplace for the iPad. Apple’s arrogance toward standard applications may be effectively challenged by Amazon’s increased tablet device improvements.

What the future may bring is not yet realized. Nonetheless, currently the Kindle Fire is a nice device, but not an iPad replacement.

The Kindle Fire has a lower resolution screen, and is 7″ versus the iPad 10″. The Kindle Fire has a slower processor than the iPad.

Nevertheless, for many non-techie consumers, the point is they may want a tablet e-reader style type viewer and not necessarily require the technical ‘content creation’ abilities or the camera on a 10 inch device. These particular type consumers will most probably purchase the Kindle Fire.

In summation, the iPad may have a competitor, except for diehard Apple loyalist aficionados.

John has sold more than one million digital books on the Amazon.com Kindle Store. The most exciting aspect is that he self-published his ebooks using Amazon’s Direct Publishing online tools.

There are many different types of digital material you can publish to Amazon.com’s Kindle other than eBooks. You can also publish magazines, newspapers, blogs and more for the eReader using the different Kindle eBook device readers.

Publishing for the Kindle is not difficult if you use the correct tools. Additionally, knowing how to promote your digital products smoothes your progress for success! Knowing your market and thriving selling niche products is crucial to your success. It is imperative you research extensively. Knowing how to and what to look for when researching is often the solution for success as an author. It is imperative a writer be sure there is a viable market for their eBook. If you are unfamiliar with Amazon.com and their Kindle history, you should be aware that in 2007 when the Kindle’s first generation device was offered, it sold out within the first five hours and was backordered for months. Currently, as of 2011, Amazon.com sells 115 eBooks for every 100 paperback books. You can see that eBooks outsell paperbacks. The sales of eBooks will only increase over future years, especially, since there are so many more eBooks and Smartphones servicing a Digital Platform.

Essentials to consider when publishing for Kindle are;

You will need a word processor application. You can use Microsoft Word documents (.doc files) or you can create your content using OpenOffice.org Writer. OO Writer is compatible with Word (.doc) and can be saved as .htm (HTML) as required by Amazon.

In addition to a wordprocessor, ‘MobiPocket Creator’ is a software tool you can use to create your ebook.

If you are HTML savvy and want to customize or edit any of your converted code prior to uploading, you can optionally use a HTML editor assisting application tool.

Amazon.com DTP has content guidelines, you must abide by.

For example, Amazon.com and other self-publishing platforms will not publish any of the following;

I predict next year at this time, eReader devices will be sold for much less than they currently are today. Additionally, I predict there will be many more Books made available for download at any one of the newer networking eBook downloadable services such as Google and Borders.com. This is in addition to other current services that exist today.

Target Corp. announced they will sell Amazon’s e-reader Kindle in select stores beginning in April 2010.

Target will be the first brick-and-mortar retailer in partnership with Amazon’s ‘the Kindle’.

The Kindle is one of Amazon.com Inc.’s best-selling products and sells for $259.

Target will sell the Kindle at its downtown Minneapolis store and 102 south Florida stores beginning April 25, 2010.  Additional Target stores will begin selling The Kindle later this year.

Amazon believes shoppers having an opportunity to test out and experience the Kindle prior to a purchase will allow a better position with their competitors such as Barnes & Noble’s Nook reader and Apple’s iPad, which comes with electronic book-reading software.

As a publisher I can appreciate the iPad as another e-reader device to read entertainment novels, informational articles, e-zines, educational content and the specialized access to the latest news.

Such future eBook viewers and readers are different than Amazon’s digital book business read on its Kindle e-reader.

The project is Google’s attempt to crack into the market of distributing current and backlist works.

There is no doubt that the Kindle from Amazon will also be a choice for eBook readers as well as the iPhone,.

Many cell phone users would rather do everything they possibly can on their iPhone or electronic gadget.

This includes reading content and accessing online books via text and audiobooks.

There is no doubt the next few years will see a rapid convergence to smaller electronic devices for reading ‘E-content’ online.

The current market seems to suggest in its analysis that the iPhone, Barnes & Noble, MobiPocket and Kindle will be among the primary contenders; however, Smartphones, PDA’s and mobile Readers, Sony, Spring Design and IREX are close behind. It is not uncommon to read articles asking questions with phrases such as “Are eBooks Dead” or “Are Books Dead “? These articles bear witness to the changing times for digital ebooks and physical books.

It is evident that e-Reader Devices, Smartphones, PDA’s and mobile Readers have increased their sales over the last years and months. Additionally, new best seller books are introduced into ebook releases in advanced numbers to satisfy consumer purchases. It is obvious ebooks trend higher than prior years.

The evolving direction toward digital text and content at this time is to obvious to ignore.

For folks like me, it was a gifted treasure that I was involved with digital ebooks since 1998 when education first took its online acceptance in larger numbers. It was then via the Internet schooling that ebooks proved its technological advancement and benefits, including price reductions.

The evolution of digital ebooks is yet to see its greatest sophisticated development. We are still in a pioneering era. This is why if you have been aspiring to write your own book or ebook, the time could not be better for you to achieve your desire.

If you have been wanting to write your book or ebook, you should begin now and place it into the marketplace. You have many available capabilities that enable you to deliver your material to the many consumers who are anxious to read ebooks on their e-readers or books in paper back.

In this article I will concentrate my discussion on digital ebooks relative to the latest e-readers that have been introduced to the marketplace.

Currently, there is a need for published works for the many “e-readers” (digital people readers) who are purchasing eReader devices.

This could not be a better time to become involved with the publishing of ebooks.

The most recent introduction to the Marketplace that sets greater competitive advancement comes from Barnes and Nobel.

Barnes and Noble e-Reader

Barnes and Noble “the Nook”, recently unveiled, their own e-reader to compete with Amazon’s Kindle.

B&N e-reader includes integrated Wi-Fi and the ability to share e-books with others using B&N’s PC, Mac or smartphone compatible software.

In addition, the Nook supports “epub”, a major open e-book standard, and PDF, which enables users to upload documents from a computer.

The Nook’s entry of the e-reader into the current market enables competition with Amazon’s Kindle.

The consumer and writer benefits from technological advances to e-readers including the eventual decrease for price in competitive price wars.

There are other companies such as Sony, Spring Design and IREX who may also benefit from the competitive market that B&N’s e-reader sets into play.

It is exciting to know that the Nook will soon have more than a million e-books for sale since they are already a book publisher and seller. Additionally, this will reduce the cost of publishing along with sales for an e-reader device.

Google Books is making available to Nook users, almost a half million free non-copyrighted books. Amazon’s Kindle cannot claim such numbers or no cost book capabilities as B&N e-reader. However, you can bet that Amazon will soon address the competition in some variant.

Amazon Kindle

While both Amazon and B&N use digital rights management technology to prevent e-book piracy, B&N has introduced sharing within its protected house. Nook users can lend an e-book to others for up to 14 days. Just like lending a paperback, the lender will not have access to the e-book while its being borrowed. Features that allow people to share e-books are considered an important step toward moving e-readers from mostly avid readers and business travelers and into the hands of mainstream consumers.

Another advantage of the Nook over Amazon’s Kindle, is limited, Wi-Fi capabilities.

The popularity of wireless enables B&N to offer Nook users to come into its stores, where they can use free Wi-Fi to browse available books with discounts and other promotions.

The Nook’s Wi-Fi and 3G wireless capabilities, provided by AT&T (NYSE: T), will only access B&N’s online properties in comparison to Amazon providing a 3G connection on the Kindle to buy books only from Amazon.

The Nook and the Kindle starting price at approximately $259 may still be too expensive for most readers.

Recognition that most consumers would not purchases these type devices until the e-readers have a starting price of $98 or less. Nevertheless, the popularity of e-readers among electronic book users sees a flourishing marketplace.

Forrester Research provided a report on September 2, 2009 that surveyed 4,706 US consumers.

“What we found was that the price points for how most consumers value eReaders is shockingly low–for most segments, between $50 and $99. (Currently, eReaders in the US are priced between $199 for the Sony Pocket Reader and $489 for the Kindle DX.)”

“What this means: The maximum addressable market for eReaders as they are currently priced is substantial–but to reach the largest market possible, the prices will need to come way down. And even then, eReader are never going to be as big a market as mp3 players, which 110 million US consumers own.

But they will still have phenomenal social and economic impact as they catalyze a new behavior of digital reading across multiple devices. We’re just at the beginning of this revolution…

The profit and marketplace potential will surely see Amazon respond to B&N’s Nook e-reader….

What style and type of writing best serves you and your reader for both to bond as if to unite and virtually touch upon a clear interaction?

You as a writer want to hear your reader and your reader in the exchange wants to listen to you.

Or, at least that is what the ideal communication level should be.

One most important lesson I have learned when reading or listening to audio books, is that I can visualize the characters that I am listening to or reading about.

When I say ‘listening to’, I can be virtually reading and hearing the sounds and voices of the characters within the story. This is what I should be able to achieve if the writer has set the stage, purpose and intrigue, resolutions, answers and very nearly set me in the midst of the imagined environment.

Does it matter that I may be reading or listening to an audio novel or instructional material?

Typically, yes; that is if you are painting pictures of characters.

You would not want to color people in non-fiction educational material as you would in a setting for a story.

Nevertheless, although you may be the teacher in training materials; you should provide a profile and purpose behind your teaching that depicts your character.

Connection between the reader and writer are challenging and pleasurable to achieve.

Whether you write to convey information or acquaint a reader (or listener of audio) with emotion or fact makes no real difference in identifying a style for creating a relationship.

Coloring and flavoring expression in teaching; or in tale, narrative, account, chronicle, article, report, or even scoop will set you apart from what is enjoyable or unpleasant in reading and or learning.

Writing in combination with your personal and philosophical thought when storytelling can develop interaction and ideas that communicate special experiences and ideas, from concrete to abstract, from informality to intimacy.

If you are ready to begin or possibly having difficulty in starting your writing goals, get underway by commenting on an impressive and meaningful film or text chapter.

You could begin by writing what is interesting and relevant to you that you saw in an episode of one of your favorite movies or TV shows.

I encourage you write something you may never have attempted before.

Begin by communicating in words some new ideas.

Begin or continue your Blog entries often; setting forth your thoughts and opinions.

Outline and sketch your goals and explore your feelings.

Interact with your inspirations, beliefs, reflections and philosophy.

You can easily achieve the above if you will plan and apply yourself making sure to use the tools that are available through technology.

Try your hand (design) at Blogging, writing articles or creating your eBook.

If you happen to be a seller of info products, templates, eBooks or other type digital delivery items on eBay, this policy will affect you immediately.

Ebay’s announcement instructs Sellers to list Digital Delivery items in Category, [Everything Else], [Information Products] under [Classified Ad Format].

Those are straightforward instructions, if you can get it to work. It seems it works intermittently when testing and in reading others accounts.

eBay announced in early 2006 they were implementing an Auto Digital Delivery System for those selling and or offering digitally deliverable items. They even went so far as initially requiring payment via PayPal and Immediate Payment Only. That later was retracted due to conflicting processes. The fact remains that eBay will institute new procedures and policies, apparently, at the drop of a hat, with short-sighted-investigation into any actual reality of the policy and its effect on sellers as well as buyers.

I often wonder what qualifications Executives and Managerial Staff in Public or Private companies can own up to. Just how smart are they? eBay company and staff so many times reminds me of people sitting in rocking chairs. Always staying busy, but never going anywhere. Additionally, eBay jogs my memory of a tail wagging the dog instead of the dog wagging its tail!

Implementing a Digital Delivery System one year and then axing it the next with the lead time of a five day notice, surely, should represent and display a great deal of insight (could also be ‘incite’ because it inflames so many members);into eBay as a company.

The fact that eBay decided to implement new policy is not the real tribulation. What is so discouraging is the fact eBay gave such short notice to those reputable and long-standing members who have no part in any eBay shenanigans and policy manipulations.

What could have been eBay’s consideration to those that earn income to feed babies or put food on the family table; or for that matter of fact, senior citizens who pay utilities high-energy costs with the extra income earned from digital downloadable products?

Of course, there is always a work around; and, inevitably, there will be other alternatives when changes occur. This in reality is not as disastrous as when a tornado strikes without warning.

Frankly, an announcement with such major changes, in allowance for only five days notice, is not a realistic business action; At least, not by a highly regarded and community caring organization, in my humble opinion.

I have to agree that many of them will compile your pre-written content. However, none will do the whole of creating quality ebooks and PDF documents as well as Open Office Suite.

There is so much to list on the advantages for using OpenOffice.org Writer, Impress and other modules, I will discuss each one individually.

This Blog originated for the reason that many readers of my training tutorial videos and ebooks, including articles and other blogs have requested I provide additional information on how they can also create and publish their own ebooks.

It seems as though many of you have purchased a few different type HTML ebook compilers and you are not obtaining the results you would like to.

Among the comments there are many who reference images and page formats included in the HTML executable style ebook.

Interestingly, there are more than a few of you that start off with a pre-written manuscript of, say, 250 pages plus. A number of you immediately follow the instructions to compile your Microsoft Word or Word Perfect document only to find that you cannot move forward or proceed to pages 2, 3 and more.

The reason for this is HTML format recognizes a whole document all as one individual page. More than likely if you scroll downward, you would then see your remaining content.

In comparison to PDF format, the entire document is recognized the same as you wrote it in page layout.

This, with greater frequency, is the more common reason you are not able to use the forward, backward, next and previous buttons to access consecutive or numbered pages.

There are a different ways in which to incorporate numbered pages when creating HTML format ebooks.

• 1. Prepare your pages with Hypertext Links and or Bookmarks access.

• 2. Set up your pages with a 6” x 9” layout allowing top and bottom margins for page numbered linking.

• 3. Set up your footer with a Next and Previous Button

• 4. Set up your footer to also include your Table of Contents.

Generally, if you have a pre-written page numbering manuscript, I recommend your eBook document is converted into a PDF format.

The reason for this is 99.9 percent of the layout and style will be retained. Therefore, you do not have to re-create your material.

There are many ways to include images and smarten up your PDF ebook to improve your overall presentation and conversion.

If you are writing and publishing an eBook from a pre-written 200+ page manuscript document, then you should seriously consider producing your product using the PDF format.

You can creatively insert images, tables and style sheet options to liven up your presentation.
